Lab Weather and Climate

Materials:Thermometer1 cup size metal container  (non-insulated)Ice“Week 3 Lab Exercise: Determining the Dew Point Temperature”worksheetApproximate time: 2 hoursInstructions:Fill the metal container with warm tap water (at least 50° F in the winter and 75° F in the summer).Place the thermometer in the water and begin to slowly add ice while continuously stirring the mixture.Record the temperature when the first sign of condensation begins to appear on the outside of the container. This reading should be within about 3° F of the dew point temperature.Compare your recorded temperature to the dew point temperature given on your local weather report. Repeat this process once or twice per day for 2 to 3 days to see if you are consistent in the outcome.
